- First Continental Congress
- The French and Indians were mad at the English colonists for coming in and taking territory. So they decided to team up and attack the English. Ultimately ending in defeat for them and victory for the English.
- The French Alliance
- After the war the English owed a lot of money because of how expensive war is. They decided to tax the colonists. In doing so they made the Colonists angry.
- The Treaty of Paris
- The colonists were angry about the taxes. They decided to meet and decide what to do about their situation. They eventually decided to start an army with George Washington in command.
- A New Constitution
- The British sent an army to capture the militias. In doing so they lost, thus motivating the French to align with the colonists and help them break off from the British rule.
- The British, French and American armies went into one final war. In the end the British army ended up surrendering to George Washington. Then finally on July 4th, 1783 American, Britain and French diplomats signed the treaty of Paris, thus ending the war. Once again finally Britain officially recognized the independence of The United States of America.
- Finally after declaring independence from Britain the United States wrote a constitution. It included natural rights, which for example is the Bill of Rights which protected the people's right such as life, liberty, and property. They also included freely elected governments which means the leaders will be elected by the people, they voted George Washington as the first president.
