- Exposition: One day a kid named Scotty Smalls moved to the Valley. He didn’t know anyone or what to do, so went to a baseball diamond (the sandlot) and saw some other kids playing. They were good, he said, and he didn’t want to ruin their game so he just went home.
- climax
- Rising action: The next day a kid named Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez (Benny Rodriguez), he was one of the kids that was playing baseball. Benny gave Smalls a glove, and a hat, and taught him how to throw and catch in seconds. 
- falling action
- inciting incident: Benny took Smalls to the corner; store, where Benny and all his friends met up. After everyone was there they went to the sandlot. Benny told Smalls to play left field. They never played a game. Benny just hit the ball and told them where to throw it. But sometimes someone would pitch, this time someone pitched. On Bennys first pitch, he hit one to Smalls but he caught it and threw it to second. On Bennys second pitch, he hammered the ball to straightaway center field
- resolution
- Smalls went home and grabbed his dad's signed Babe Ruth baseball. Smalls got to hit first because he got the ball,  but on the first pitch, he hit a home run to left field. They tried all possible ways to get the ball back but they didnt work.
- But the next day Benny had a dream about babe ruth how legends never die. Benny hopped over the fence and got it. But there was one thing that Benny was afraid of, it was the beast.  Benny got the ball, but the dog (the beast) chased Benny all over town , luckily Benny survived. After Benny did that he earned the nickname Benny ‘The Jet’ Rodriguez.
- Resolution: Mr myrdal was the person that lived at the house behind the fence. He got Benny and all his friends all the balls they have ever hit over the fence.
