- Jason is very upset because his uncle, Pelias, takes over the throne from Jason's father.
- I want the golden fleece
- The new king, Pelias, offers to give Jason his throne if he goes out on this dangerous journey to get the golden fleece. Pelias is doing this hoping that Jason will die and not return to combat the throne.
- Jason is very happy about this news and will try his hardest to set out on this journey and retrieve his throne. Pelias thinks that Jason will die and is not worried about him returning.
- Jason finally arrives at Colchis, where the golden fleece is located, and demands the king an opportunity to retrieve it.
- The king decides to let Jason attempt to retrieve the golden fleece (assuming that he will die like all the others). During this time, the gods make the king's daughter, Medea, fall in love with Jason and she helps him retrieve the golden fleece
- Medea and Jason return home and Jason takes over the throne after killing Pelias. The couple then moves to Corinth and settle there.
