- First is Transcription, it starts in the nucleus when RNA polymerase attaches to a strand of DNA and unwinds and unzips a small, specific section of it

- Then along one of the now open strands of DNA, bases of matching RNA come and connect to the DNA to make a single strand of mRNA (messenger RNA) The difference between DNA and RNA is RNA contains uracil whereas DNA contains thymine

- Once the mRNA is done being made it then detaches from the DNA and starts to be edited. Meanwhile the DNA winds back up into it's natural form.
- Ribosome
- Second is Translation. The first step is called initiation. After the editing is done the mRNA then travels into the cytoplasm where it gets attached to a ribosome. The ribosome creates proteins so this is where the protein to get taller is made.

- Once the mRNA is connected, tRNA (transfer RNA) bases come and they start looking for their complimentary base pairs on the mRNA. The bases on the mRNA are called codons and the bases on the tRNA are called anti-codons. tRNA come and read the codons on the mRNA in triplets and start connecting to the mRNA when they find the start codon AUG.
