- Setting : Characters : Della, Mr. James Dillingham Young (Jim) They are married.
- Climax
- Della wanted to buy a Christmas gift for Jim, but she only has 1.87$ that's not enough for gift.
- Falling Action
- So she decided to sell her hair and after sell it she got 20$ with that money she buy her husband's watch chain.
- Resolution
- They exchange gifts with each other in the dinner. Della give Jim a watch chain and Jim give Della a combs. But Jim sold his watch to bus Della's gifts, so they could not use all of their gifts.
- So they decide to put the gifts for a while and use it when they can use.
- They got to know each other's true feelings better and loved each other more.
