  • Sugar Act - 1764
  • OR ELSE!!!
  • YEAH! NO MORE TAX......
  • SAY NO TO TAX!
  • Sons of Liberty - 1765
  • Quartering Act - 1765
  • You all stay here in our room.
  • This is so unfair!!
  • The Sugar Act lowered the taxation on molasses, but there was a higher increase of tax on other goods. The goods were; Sugar, coffee, wine, and some textiles. Also, the Sugar Act affected where and how the colonists traded goods. There was a sharp decline in lumber, which affected the fragile economy. Setting the stage for the revolution. Colonists also would protest or revolt against this act.
  • Boston Massacre - 1770
  • KA-POW
  • The Sons of Liberty was an independent group of American colonists that was formed in the year 1765 to protect them from British tax policies. They were first called the Loyal Nine when they acted on the Stamp Act in Boston. The Sons of Liberty held protests, newspaper articles to have people join them, signed petitions, etc. I think the Sons of Liberty were the voices of people who were too afraid to do anything against the British.
  • Boston Tea Party - 1773
  • This act caused more tension between the British and the colonists because it stated that if the Brackets got too full the British troops would take up the colonist's houses! Not only that the colonists would have to host them and feed them even if you didn't want to. Sometimes the colonists had to build a place for the soldiers, with their own money.
  • First Continental Congress - 1774
  • Tensions were very high in Boston, Massachusetts, this didn't help that there was a Customs House (where the British stored tax money). British soldiers were always standing outside guarding, so colonists went and started throwing rocks at them. When one finally hit a soldier a shot few out, 5 people died and 7 people injured. Samuel Adams named this the Boston Massacra to fire up colonists. This is why I think this was one huge closer step to revolution.
  • BOOM
  • SLASH
  • The British began to ship low-priced tea to colonists, even though it had a way lower price the colonists refused to drink or even take the tea. When 3 ships arrived in Boston Habor, the colonist refused to let the Britain ships unload the tea. On the night of December 16, 1773, a group of colonists dressed up as Native Americans and boarded one of the ships. On that ship, they dumped 300 crates of tea of the ship. This shows that the colonists were tired of being treated badly and revolution was coming.
  • The First Continental Congress was where political leaders in the colonies, this was held because colonists were outraged and annoyed at the British policies. At this meeting, they made documents that had a declaration of individual rights. The Congress also sent a petition to King Goerge 111 with many complaints. This was a great way to voice their opinions as one.
