  • As breweries were shutdown due to the ban Canadian citizens resorted to brewing alcohol in bathtubs. This is one way speakeasys smuggled alcohol.
  • In an effort to reduce crime and corruption on January 17th, 1920 alcohol was officially outlawed by the Canadian government. This was due to consequences from the war like a declining economy, mass unemployment, and injured soldiers turning alcholism.
  • Alcohol will now be banned for the wellbeing of Canadian citizens.
  • After Canada banned alcohol many Canadians were dissatisfied and turned to speakeasys to get their hands on alcohol, often reffered to as giggle water in the 1920's. After the ban Adam and Nathan began to talk about their desire for alcohol, this is when Nathan suggests the idea to go to a speakeasy.
  • It's a shame they banned alcohol. I like to enjoy some giggle water and go on a toot after work!
