Demeter and Persephone

- Demeter the god of the harvest had one daughter Persephone. Demeter loved to spend hours in the company of her daughter and watching her grow up but one day Persephone went out to pick flowers for her mother when a flower caught her eye that´s when the most dreadful thing happened.
- Persephone looked up at the sky birds were flying everywhere then all of a sudden the sky turned dark then the ground started to shake the a crack started to appear then with a loud boom. Hades appeared with his chariot he leaned down and grabbed her and back down to the under world he went. Persephone yelling for her mother to help her on the way down.
- Hades had saw Persephone on one of his trips he was taken away by her beauty and her charm so much he wanted to kidnap her. He went to his brother Zeus to discuss the matter Zeus agreed to abducting her to take to the underworld.
- In the depths below Hades using his powers of persuasion tried to make her stay and marry her. Persephone cried and cried until there were no more tears left she refused to eat afraid to be stuck in the under world forever. Until one day she actually saw Hades and the underworld itself she began to love to love the place and love Hades.
- Meanwhile Demeter was so upset she searched everywhere for her daughter far and wide but with no luck. The crops did not thrive all the plants seemed to just fade away. Finally the god of the sun saw Demeter and took pity on her he told her that Hades had kidnapped her and took her to the underworld. Demeter confronted Zeus and demanded to have her daughter returned but when his messenger got there it was to late.
- When Hermes saw Hades and Persephone sitting under a tree and eating a pomegranate he knew he was to late so he made a compromise Persephone would stay 6 months with her mother than go back to her husband down in the under world for six months.
