- Odysseus shows no mercy towards the foolish suitors, and recruits his son, Telemachus (right), the herdsman, Eumaeus (left), and the cowherd (not shown).

- With additional aid from Athena, Odysseus and his men successfully kill every suitor in the great hall.
- Penelope surprises Odysseus by testing him and not showing him the love that he thought he would receive. She lets him sleep outside of their room, signifying that she was going to move his bed.
- Odysseus reveals that he remembers their secret that he made their bed out of a tree trunk. The couple reunites and have a peaceful ending.
