  • One evening, Usher told him that Lady Madeline has died, he said he was going to keep her body in one of many vaults inside the walls of the building. So he agreed to help because Usher had said because of her illness and the family grave yard was in a long distance this might be the only option.

  • They both carried her to her resting place and the thick door was of iron. As they placed her there, the narrator can now see for the first time the resemblance of brother and sister. Usher have told him then that they were twins, and their understanding been good, and their connection that connected them together had always been strong. They filled with wonder as looked down at the lifeless face one final time. She seemed to be sleeping then dead.

  • They went back from to room and the narrator noticed a change in his friend, ''Usher's face was paler and more ghastly than it had been before, and the light in his eyes had vanished''. On the 7th or 8th day after the death of Madeline, the narrator had trouble sleeping as he felt a force of feelings. he listened to the low sounds of the storm and heavy in his shoulders so he got up and changed as he was walking around the room nervously.

  • As he have been walking for a few minutes, he heard a light step approaching at the door, and he knew it was Usher. He opened the door and Usher was there in a flash and said, ''Have you not seen it'' as he went to a window and swung it open. There was an intense wind, the clods were low to the ground but it was a beautiful night. He said to Usher you shouldn't look at this and closed it right away.
  • He then picked up an old book and began reading to Usher to take things off his mind. As he read about a man breaking open the door he stopped reading because he herd a noise of that same thing happening there. He read some more and what ever happens next also come true about the noice part. Then he got scared and Usher had said ''Yes, he has heard noices minutes and hours since the death of Madeline that is because I put her living at the vault and is now at the door.
  • She opened the door and with a cry went on top of his brother and the fear Usher got killed him and that is when the narrator was terrified he ran from the house. As he ran to the bridge he looked back where the storm was there and can see slowly the palace of the house of Usher slowly falling apart.
