- Bud a 10-year-old boy is in line with the other foster kids. When the caseworker takes him out of the line along with another kid named Jerry they were told they were going to a new foster home. Bud was going with a family called the Amoses. They had a 12-year-old son. Bud wasnt too excited to go because he knew he was going to have problems st the home.
- Bud wasn't doing so well at his foster home. Bud and his foster brother Todd were fighting each other. When Mrs. Amos went into the room Todd started lying to her and said Bud was the one that started and that he was just trying to help him. Mrs.Amos had enough of Bud's behavior so she decided that he would have to sleep in the shed, she took away his suitcase and hid it.
- Bud is alone in the shed and checks to see if the door is locked and gets scared by something with glowing eye's near the door of the shed.Bud finally goes to sleep but ends up waking up a while after and he sees a vampire bat in the shed.He gets a rake and swings at the bat.But then Bud is stung on the cheek and he finds out he had just swung at a nest of hornets.Bud ends up crashing through the window but he is furious and wants to get his revenge.
