If I was in the General Assembly I would create fair laws and help all colonies.

We deserve a voice!!!
Life on a Farm in the colonies was very secluded. The people who lived there provided their own food, water, and clothes so they did not have to go to the city often. Farming was one of the colonies' main sources of income. There were many chores that the families living there had to do, for example cutting wood, cooking, cleaning, and clearing land.
Boston Massacre
The government in the Colonies included General Assemblies and Colonial governors. General Assemblies were men who were elected by the colonists to make laws. Colonial governors were men chosen by the King, they were more powerful than General Assemblies and overruled them. The British Government was not that involved with life in the Colonies.
The Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty were a group of Patriots that were very against the British Government and acted in such ways. On November 1, 1765, they attacked the stamp commissioner's home/office because they wanted to speak out about the unfair taxes. The Sons of Liberty burned an effigy to represent the commissioner. An effigy is a dummy that may represent someone. This terrified the commissioner and he soon quit his job.
The Declaration of Independance
The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770, when my colonists were fed up with the way the British were treating them. When British soldiers were guarding the customs house at night a group of colonists came up to them and started shouting at them. These colonists started throwing snowballs, this made the soldiers shoot, five colonists were killed.
The Boston Tea Party was an Act of Tyranny in response to the Tea Act on December 16, 1773, by the Sons of Liberty. The Tea act was when Britain only allowed the East Indian Company to sell tea to the Colonies. This made tea cheaper, but the Patriots did not want to fund Britain, so they dressed as Mohawk Native Americans and went to the Boston Harbor. They sneaked onto tea ships and dropped all of the cargo with tea into the water.
The Declaration of Independence was a note to the British government from the Colonies telling them that they want to leave their ruling. Thomas Jefferson wrote this using John Locke's ideas. It stated that if the government does not protect the people's rights it should be replaced, the King is a tyrant and abuses the rights of the colonists, and that the colonies want to be free and independent states.
In Congress, July 4, 1776, A Declaration by the representatives of the United States of America in the general congress assembled.
