- They were in a financial crisis, King Luis XVI called a meeting of the estate general to have the estates vote by order in order to help with the debt that they had. In the end they decided to still to keep taxing the third estate only. Making it harder to end the monarchy that France ha, but starting the revolution.

- The third estate is done getting thrown around so they go to a tennis court and pledged themselves to create a written constitution for France. They created the National Assembly that states not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established. Then the Constitution of 1791 was finally made shaping the idea of the French Revolution.

- On July 14, 1789 the rebels stormed the Bastille prison for the guns and ammunition that they had. This event was a major one that was remembered for the revolution to come.

- The women of Paris marched to Versailles looking for the king about the high bread prices. They talked to the king and made him come back to Paris with them and he promised to give them food and lower the prices in the future. He never did what he promised making the people more mad and finally people started thinking about a revolution.
- During the reign of terror multiple people were getting sent to the guillotine just for saying bad things or getting accused. Robespierre started to go crazy the more power he got. The first republic was made before the reign of terror meaning they had one when it started. Once realizing how bad things had gotten the people stood up and the revolution started

- Napoleon gained power after having a lot military success and in 1804 he crowned himself emperor of France. His idea was to reform France's legal system in accordance with the ideas of the French Revolution.
