In this storyboard I will cover at least 6 people or groups of allies in the fight for equality for African Americans. Briefly explaining what they have done and who they are.

  • W.E.B DuboisWas known as the most influential African American Rights Activists in the early 20th Century. He Became the first African American to earn a Ph.D. From Harvard Uni and wrote 'The Soul of Black Folk.' As a scholar and activist Dubois co-founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Which fought for black lives in the court rooms, schools, homes and more.
  • "The problem of the twentieth century is the problem of the color line."
  • The Black Lives Matter movement was founded on July 2013 by ... protesting against police brutality and all racial hatred towards African Americans. In 2020 following the deaths of Breonna Tayler, George Floyd and unfortunately much more Black Lives Matter protests seemed to scatter internationally!

  • The group started many programs and services to all in needs such as the Free-Breakfast-For-Children Program, they provided services like clothes distribution, class of economics to even first aid, they even starts some drug rehabilitation programs.

  • Martin Luther King was a social activist and Baptist minister who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from 1955-1968. At 35 he was the youngest man to receive a Nobel Peace Prize! Due to many achievements there are many musems and momuments in his name all over the country.
  • Claudette Colvin - A pioneer of the 1950's civil rights movement. When Claudette was only 15 years old on March 2, 1955 she refused to move to the back of the bus and give her seat up to a white person. Not too long after Rosa Parks did the same. She was arrested in Montgomery Alabama. Colvin later became the main witness in the federal lawsuit Browder v. Gayle, which ended segregation on public transportation in Alabama.
  • Thurgood Marshall also known as the first African American Supreme Court's Justice. He recieved his law degree and was ranked first of his class from Howard University. With being a lawyer, judge and Civil Rights activist he also had much contribution with the NAACP. Many saw him as revolutionary and strong-willed.
