- AHAHAH!!!
- Scotland and Norway have a bloody and gruesome war.
- King Duncan has learnt about the defeat of Macdonwald from an injured sergeant. The thanks of Ross also informs him that the Thane of Cawdor is a traitor and has been captured. Scotland won the war. Duncan is very happy with Macbeth and names him the new Thane of Cawdor.
- The witches made a prophecy that Macbeth will be thane of Cawdor and king, and tells Banquo that his sons will be kings.
- Banquo, Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none.
- Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handletoward my hand?
- All hail Macbeth! Hail to thee Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, and that shalt be king thereafter,
- He bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor; In which addition, hail, most worthy Thane!
- Ross gives a message from the king, giving the title of Thane of Cawdor to Macbeth
- Macbeth is debating committing regicide when Lady Macbeth walks in and tries to convince him. She tells him that he will be a coward in her eyes if she does not kill Duncan. Macbeth agrees to her plan.
- When you durst do it, thenyou were a man. I have given suck, and know how tender 'tis tolove the babe that milks me. I would, while it was smiling inmy face, have pluck'd my nipple from his boneless gums, anddash'd the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this!
- Macbeths mind started to make tricks with him by imagining a dagger in his hand.
