- The Mayans were located in the northwestern part of central America. The Mayan empire lasted form 250 CE until about 900.
- Government/Leadership
- The Mayans were polytheistic and believed that in order to worship their gods they would need to 1. pray/offer 2. blood letting 3. human sacrifice. They Mayans calendar was a part of their religious belief.
- Achievements

- Decline of Empire
- The Mayans were a independent City-State and their capital was Tikal. Their kings were considered gods.
- The Mayans had a tradition of a ball game that they would try and get a ball through a circle on the side of the wall without using your hands or feet. Whoever won was considered a god and whoever lost the captain of the team was killed.
- The decline of the Mayan empire was very mysterious. It is said it was abandoned by warfare, over-farming, and trading disruption.
