Storyboard-Text

  • "I'm chief, because you chose me. And we were going to keep the fire going. Now you run after food-"
  • "Who's going to join my tribe? I gave you food, and my hunters will protect you from the beast. Who will join my tribe?"
  • "You ran yourself! Look at that bone in your hands!"
  • "I said you were hunters. That was your job."
  • "Who'll join my tribe and have fun?"
  • "I'm chief, and what about the fire? And I've got the conch-"
  • You haven't got it with you, you left it behind. see, clever? and the conch doesn't count on this end of the island-"
  • "The conch counts here too, and all over the island."
  • Jack stood up from his log and asked for a drink, which Henry gave him. He then ordered all the boys to sit down.
  • "What are you going to do about it then?"
  • "The fire-rescue"
  • Me!
  • "Who will join my tribe"
  • I will!
  • Jack and Ralph start arguing after Jack asks who wants to join his tribe. Ralph gets upset and says that he was chosen as chief and was the one to give him the job of a hunter.
  • "We shan't hear it."
  • "I'm going to blow the conch, and call an assembly."
  • "Come away. There's going to be trouble. And we've had our meat."
  • Jack ignores Ralph and once again asks who will join his tribe. Ralph responds by again saying he is the chief and he has the conch. Jack says that he doesn't have the conch with him and that is doesn't count on end of the island, but Ralph believes the conch counts all over the island.
  • "Going to be a storm, and you'll have rain like when we dropped here. Who's clever now? Where are your shelters? What are you going to do about that?"
  • "Do our dance! Come on! Dance!"
  • "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!
  • Ralph and Jack continue to argue, and Jacks asks once more who will join his tribe, and this time many of the boys say they will join Jack.
  • Ralph says he'll blow the conch to call an assembly, but Jack says the boys won't listen. Piggy tells Ralph they should leave since they finished eating. Thunder strikes and it begins to rain.
  • As the thunder roars, Jack orders the boys to do their dance. They form a circle and begin to chant. Ralph and Piggy want to partake in the dance as they see it as a source of security under the rain, even though they know it is savage.
