- Can you explain ATP and energy for me?
- ATP is an energy carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things. ATP is made up of adenine, a sugar called ribose, and three phosphate groups.When energy is needed by the cell, it is converted from storage molecules into ATP. Then ATP serves as a shuttle, delivering energy to places within the cell where energy consuming activities are taking place.
- Ok so what are the laws of thermodynamics?
- - The first law is known as Law of Conservation of Energy. It states that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system.- The second law of thermodynamics states that the entropy of any isolated system always increases.- The third law of thermodynamics states that the entropy of a system approaches a constant value as the temperature approaches absolute zero.
- What happens when chemical bonds break and form
- Chemical reactions break existing molecular chemical bonds, and new bonds form as a result. When new bonds are formed they can be endothermic which means absorbing heat or exothermic which means releasing heat
