- Quentin used to be best friends with Margo Roth Spieglman when they were nine years old living in their paper town. Everything changed once they had saw a man who shot himself in the head at the park down the street. Margo had a means to not live a life full of paper people in a paper town. Quentin saw her each day wondering if they could ever reconnect as they still live right next door.
- Margo Roth Spieglman showed up at Quentin's door in the middle of the night in need of a car. At eighteen Quentin had no car but keys to his mother's. This is when the most unexpected, midnight activity tasks took place. Margo Roth Spieglman had eleven tasks to do; they all were for revenge of her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. Quentin didn't understand why he was present although his presence near Margo Roth Spieglman is what he has been longing for, nothing will stop him.
- Where Quentin would see Margo Roth Spieglman every single day since freshman year, he thought after a spontaneous night of thril maybe they would converse. He was left with his two best friends that would be left just as curious as he was on where Margo Roth Spieglman had left.
- The tasks throughout their night went from throwing smelly fish in their rooms, spray painting onto houses, unsolicited photos, and to end it all off a break in too Disney World. Margo Roth Spieglman wanted to have one last night of adventure. Quentin wondered why it was it had to be the last of their adventures and not the start.
- Quentin, Ben, and Radar are on the hunt, they find help from Radar's girlfriend and Margo's former best friend Lacy (no not the one her ex-boyfriend slept with). After a long three weeks they have collected many clues that Margo had left leading to a Paper Town in Agloe, New York. They all come to a conclusion on graduation day it's been too long without Margo Roth Spieglman they need her, especially Quentin. Time for a 25 hour road trip to hopefully find Margo Roth Spieglman Breathing.
- Margo Roth Spieglman's story concludes when her friends find her in Agloe. She has no expression besides it was like a band aid she needed to leave, she didn't want a paper life like her parents and mostly her friends. Leaving Quentin perplexed beyond measure. She leaves on her own path with this "I find it impossible to unthink the thought of death, i feel like a perverted euphoria"
