- Did you know that Iowa has more hogs than people? It is estimated that there are over 24 million hogs in Iowa today!
- Iowa is known for its farming. Believe it or not, 92% of the state is farmland!
- The first washing machine was invented in Newton, Iowa in 1907 by Fred Maytag.
