Storyboard-Text

  • Vengeful
  • The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge.
  • Duplicitous
  • " My Dear Fortunato you are a luckily met, how remarkable well you look."
  • Carnival
  • Methodical
  • "Let us go,nevertheless. The cold is merely nothing. Amontillado! You have been imposed upon.
  • . "Amontillado,A pipe? Impossible! And in the middle of the carnival!"
  • Come lets go, To your vaults.". The vaults are insufferably damp. They are encrusted with nitre."
  • I have received a pipe of what passes for Amontillado, and I have my doubts."
  • In the begging of the story, we saw that Montresor had lot of hatred and anger against Fortunato and thus wanted to to take revenge on him. He then states this ". I must not only punish but punish with impunity." What he meant was that he wanted to take revenge on Fortunato but without being caught and get away with the crime.
  • Deceitful
  • "Drink," I said, presenting him the wine.
  • "I drink," "to the buried that repose around us."
  • Montresor is also a duplicitous person whereby he pretends to be friendly to Fortunato so that he may gain his trust but in reality he was just pretending to be friendly to him since he had already planned to do something to him.
  • Manipulative
  • "Enough," "the cough's a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough."
  • Montresor is more methodical and vigilant towards his approach towards his life as All he wanted was to hurt Fortunato the same way he had unknowingly hurt him. He devises a careful, cold-blooded, step-by-step plan to murder his enemy, leaving nothing to chance
  • Merciless
  • Called aloud, "Fortunato!"
  • No answer.
  • Montresor was also a deceitful person, he deceived Fortunato by using Fortunato's biggest weakness which was the amontillado or alcohol. By knowing that Fortunato was addicted to alcohol, he went and carried out his plan perfectly .
  • "And I to your long life."
  • Montresor manipulates Fortunato by continually flattering him, faking concern for his health, and offering him droughts of wine to further impair his judgment. Fortunato's pride, arrogance, and affinity for fine wines are character traits that make him easy prey for Montresor.
  • "Come," "we will go back; your health is precious. You are rich, respected, admired, beloved; you are happy, as once I was. You are a man to be missed. For me it is no matter. We will go back; you will be ill, and I cannot be responsible.
  • Montresor acted merciless towards Fortunato since he showed no kind of emotion or pity for burying him alive and leaving him to die.
  • .In pacerequiescat!Meaning rest in peace.
  • called again --"Fortunato!"
  • No Answer again
