- No problem, Madame Loisel. Here is a necklace.
- She was born into a petty official's family and she had no dowry in her possession. Because she has no dowry, she married a minor civil servant
- Climax
- Her husband gave her an invitation to an evening reception at the Ministry of Education, but she has nothing proper to wear. He gives her 400 Francs to be a nice evening dress and suggests that she goes to her friend to borrow a article of jewelry.
- Falling Action
- The...The...necklace-it's gone
- Madame Loisel asked Madame Forestier if she could borrow a piece of jewelry.
- Resolution
- You remember the diamond necklace you lent me? Well it took me 10 years to pay for it.
- They go to the ball and Madame Loisel was the talk of the ball.
- Madame Loisel and her husband get home and she finds out that she has lost the Necklace and they ask around for loans to pay for a new one.
- I'm going to retrace the whole distance we covered on foot and see if I can't find it
- Madame Loisel runs into Madame Forestier in the streets and tells her that she has spent the last ten years working to pay back the Necklace.
- Oh Mathilde, mine was false.
