- The Louisana Purchase (1803)
- We'll take that!
- What a deal!
- We want New Orleans! Our offer is 10 million dollars.
- Indian removal in the Southeast (1830)
- Don't worry though! Because i'm so considerate, I will pay for all of their new housing!
- Inevitably there will be war over land, and the Indians will lose. Therefore, they will all be forced out.
- Texas Revolution (1836)
- We are sieging the Alamo!!
- Thomas Jefferson wanted to purchase New Orleans for 10 million dollars. Napoleon of France offers him 15 million for all of Louisana because he needed money after The Great French War. Jefferson loves this deal because he gets a lot of land and he accepts.
- Mexican War (1846)
- President Andrew Jackson thought that if there was ever a war for land, the Indians would lose. So he thought it would be kind to remove them from their land and buy them new land. The Indians were forced to walk The Trail of Tears where a third of them died.
- Oregon Territory (1846)
- We are so tired, the oregon trail has been treachorous!
- Pull through we are very close!
- Mexico was treating Texas poorly, and Texas wanted independence. Mexico didn't want this to happen and a war was fought.
- Black Hawk's surrender speech.
- We are just as good as white men! And we are tired of the Americans terrible treatement, We were here first!
- Let's fight them Black Hawk!
- America was on the rise and looking to expand even more. They were fighting on where the border of Texas should be. Mexico and America disagreed on this topic and decided to have a war that America won.
- We believe in manifest destiny! We want the country to go from the Atlantic to the Pacific!
- Yes! We get California, Arizona, and more!
- (This war ended in 1848 when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed )
- America wanted Oregon and even came up with the saying: Fifty four forty or fight. Britain gave them Oregon because they didn't want war. People had to travel a dangerous trail to get to Oregon.
- The Indians wanted to fight the Americans. Black Hawk knew that they shouldn't. He didn't want to fight because they would lose, and become like the people that they hate.
- No that wouldn't be smart, we would lose. We would become the people that we despise.
