  • 1. Navigation Acts
  • What do you mean we can only trade with british?
  • Yes. We can only trade with british because they want more money to pay off their debts.
  • 2. Stamp Act
  • Can I buy those playing cards
  • Sure but you have to pay an extra 2 dollars for the new taxes
  • 3.Quartering Acts
  • Yes, all thanks to the new quartering act!
  • You are telling me that I have to feed and care for your?
  • The Navigation Acts were multiple laws that limited who the colonies could trade with. This was based on mercantilisim, the british wanted more econmoic power. This was important because it made the colonists angry becuase Britain only reinstated this act becuase they needed to pay off a debt and while they were taking a gain off of that the colonists were losing
  • 4. Boston Massacre

  • The Stamp Act were laws that enforced a tax on documents and things made of paper and gambling materials. This was important because it angered the colonists a lot. It also triggered a boycott which forced the British to eventually repeal the Stamp Act

  • The Quartering act was a law that forced colonists to let british troops into their house and provide care for them. This made an impact becuase it angered the colonists even more because it forced to pay for basicly an extra family member without their concent.

  • The Boston Massacre was a tragedy which included the deaths of multiple colonists. This event was used for properganda by radical revolutionarys. This was important becuase it upset and gave the colonists a view that british soldiers are ruthless killers.

  • The intolerable acts were a stet of laws(5) that were in reaction to the boston tea party. It closed Boston harbour and made boston under direct control of the British. This was important because for many colonists this was too much. A turning point for a lot of colonists.
  • Cancel the voyage the harbours has closed!

  • The 2nd Continental Congress was a grouping of delegates from all 13 states for the second time. Here they decided to form the continental army and eventually write the decleration of independence. This is important because it established a temporary congress and eventually lead to America declaring its independence.
