- Religious impact - hundreds of missionaries and abbots executed for staying or fighting back - Nuns were not treated well and were left homeless- protestants benefited in the long term as whole scale return of Catholicism was prevented
- Social impact - Many were left poor and homeless as they relied on monasteries to live - 7000 Nuns, monks and friars dispossessed
- Economic Impact - properties were seized, buildings were dismantled and roofs were removed to decay the buildings faster - all land a holdings were taken by the king

- Political Impact- rewards were given out to those who saw the king as the head of church and cooperated- 68 properties were given to the nobility which were people who refused the return to Rome in fear of losing their power and prestige
