Storyboard-Text
Hades rarely comes up from the underworld. However, this time, he came to see what was going on at the surface because he had heard that someone was trying to bring light to the darkness.
While analyzing the situation, he spotted a beautiful girl called Persephone, who was the daughter of Demeter and Zeus as she was wandering in the whereabouts of the Earth.
He then went to Zeus and asked for permission to marry Persephone which was granted to him. However Zeus knew that Demeter, Persephone's mother, would never allow their marriage so he suggested that Hades should kidnap Persephone and take her to the underworld.
One day, Persephone went out to gather some roses, violets and many other flowers, but she got distracted by one gorgeous flower so Hades took it as an opportunity and the plan was in action. He had caused the Earth to open so he could abduct Persephone and take her to the underworld.
Later, Demeter realized that Persephone was missing and neglected all her duties as she grew mad, and was desperate to find her daughter.
After a while of searching for her daughter, Demeter finds out from a nymph that her daughter was kidnapped by Hades so she went to Zeus and asked if Hades could free their daughter, but Zeus reluctantly rejected her.
However, Demeter angrily threatened Zeus by saying that if Hades doesn't free their daughter, she would keep neglecting her tasks, meaning that there wouldn't be any crops and the world would be infertile forever. Scared by the threat, Zeus said that Hades may free their daughter only if she hadn't eaten anything from him.
When Demeter went to rescue her daughter, she found out that Persephone had already eaten a pomegranate that was offered by Hades, meaning that her bond with the underworld cannot be totally destroyed. As a result, Hades suggested that Persephone may spend half the year with him, and half the year with her mother and Demeter had no choice but to accept the proposal.
However, whenever her daughter had to go back to her husband, Hades, Demeter’s sadness grew stronger than ever and caused her to neglect her duties every couple of months
Therefore, seasons were created.
When her daughter returned, she would get back to finishing her tasks, leaving the earth very fertile and nourished.
