- One day, a man was walking to Jerusalem
- Suddenly he was attacked by two thieves
- They beat him up, stole his possessions, and left him there to die
- A Jewish priest walked by him that night, but instead of helping him, he walked by and left him there.
- A Levite (someone who helps a priest in the temple) walked by the man. He did not stop to help the injured man either.
- Then a Samaritan found him (a person from Samaria and an enemy of the Jewish people). The Samaritan did not ignore the injured man. He stopped and helped him.The parable of the good Samaritan teaches us that we should always try to treat people with kindness and help people in need.
