Storyboard-Text

  • Hi sweetie, I heard you talking about Selena and how you were comparing her life to yours.
  • It's fine darling but I just want to tell you that you should never believe what you see on social media, never compare your body to those of others, and never compare your life to that of celebrities on social media because people only post about the positive things in their lives, they edit pictures, and they are deceiving.
  • Oh, sorry mom I thought you couldn't hear me.
  • How do I know your right?Plus this isn't any of your business anyway.
  • Yes it is, I want to tell you a story about a young girl who suffered because of how she compared herself to others on social media.
  • Okay? Fine but I honestly don't really care what you say
  • I knew this girl who was about your age, 14. She had blonde hair, brown eyes, and she was always confident about her appearance until she got a phone.. She used to follow fitness celebrities on instagram, stalk them, and she would look at their lives, the parties they went to, compare her weight to theirs, and she was always jealous that her body wasn't as slim as theirs.
  • She stopped communicating with her family, she started eating less to lose weight, her self-confidence dropped along with her self-esteem and mental well-being. She became depressed and developed eating disorders like anorexia. She was forced to get fed through a tube since she couldn't fathom eating anymore, and one day, she went to the hospital since she had to get surgery, but her body couldn't handle the anesthesia and recovery process because of how frail and weak she became. At some point, she died and left her family devastated, they ended up ending their lives, and their bloodline ended.
