- how did all this happen. the black death has killed 60% of the human race, all because of a rat.
- in 1347, a ship docked at the sicilican port. to everyone's suprise, twelve of the ship's crew member's were either dead, or covered in black boiles oozing with blood and puss. they called this the "Black Death."
- the Black Death ended in the early 1350's. After the Black Death, things got better. modern labour movements, improvements in medicine, and a new approach to life.
- the peasants revolt was the first great rebellion in english history. It began in May, 1381, taking the government and king Richard II by suprise.
- in the summer of 1381, John Ball was hung for inflammatory sermons advocating a classless society.
- No more Poll Tax!!
- by the end of the summer in 1381, the peasants revolt has ended. the poll tax was withdrawn and the peasants were forced back to their old lives.
- this isn't fair, my noble knight.
- The plague has caused a shortage of labour, so they needed more harvest from the peasants. But the peasants requested more pay, and the lord had to give.
