- Dr. Emil Freireich gets to his new office and sees his name is wrong.
- Dr. Emil Freireich

- Dr. EmilFreireich
- Who am I?! I am Dr. Emil Freireich and this is my office!
- Who are you?
- Oh, I'm sorry.
- Only to discover that it was actually his new coworkers office.
- OH! Nice to meet you. I am Emil Frei, your office is next door.
- After their rocky start Frei and Freireich got along really well.They balanced eachother nicely.
- The young, ambitious, and impulsive Dr. Emil Freireich.
- And the calm, cool and cautious Dr. Emil Frei.
- Brought together by Dr. Gordon Zubrod to be the luekemia fighting dream team.
- The issue with treating luekemia is that is is a rare disease, so hospitals are competing for patients.
- And every hospital...
- ...Uses a different medicaltion
- SO Dr. Zubrod convices the hospital to share patients, results, and treatments.
- And standardize practices to create organized clinical trials.
- While standardization of treatment helped test theories, the treatments werent enough. Patients were still dying.
- The dream team decides they must combine more medications
- National Institute of Butchery
- I think we have to.
- Can we really combine 3 toxic medications?
- Is there any other options?
- The trial goes smoothly
- They compare the treatment with a single medication with the treatment with 2 medications.
- Patients who recieve both medications had better ourcomes than those who only received one. But it still wasn't enough.
- This created the idea of VAMP. the combination of 4 harsh medications to get patients into remmission.
- How could you?

- Your hospital will become a butcher's shop!
- NO!
- The dream team moves forward with VAMP on their own.
- It's the best chance the patients have
- We have to do this!
- Is there any other options?
- For a while things were grim.
- Every patient seemed to be on deaths door
- But then, The patients started to get better.
- After testing, the patients were declared to be in remission!
- We did it!
- So they try again, to confirm their results.
- National Cancer Institute
- Again, the patients go into remission.
- The dream team spreads the word of their success.
- amazing!

- I never thought it would work.
- Wow!
- My head hurts
- The success didn't last.
- The dream team took a big hit and was lost on what to do next.
- What do we do now?
- I don't know.
- Soon after Dr. Emil Frei left the institution.
- Although VAMP wasn't successful, it wasn't a total lost. There were a few patients that stayed in remission.
