- May 25th 2020- The murder of George Floyd. Officer Derek Chauvin kneels on the neck of Floyd and suffocates him. The recording (by the public) went viral and sparked outrage.
- Please. I can't breathe.
- MEANWHILE...
- Protests and riots occurred across the US for nearly two years.
- Get back inside!!
- Chauvin was put on paid administrative leave then later returned to work.He was later fired. Not arrested.
- I'm protected by the state, nothing will happen to me.
- While families mourn Floyd's death
- We need justice. When will we truly be free?
- Black Lives Matter. Lock the officers responsible up!
- Here lies George Floyd
- More political leaders have been more honest in addressing racism. Today we still protest against police brutality.
- Monuments idolizing Confederates were destroyed.
- The protests lead to the arrest and charge of Chauvin for manslaughter.Many more officers were arrested and charges subsequently when found to have used too much force.
