- No . Mama , something is happening between Walter and me . He needs something I can´t give him anymore .

- We was going to set away , little by little , dont you know , and buy a little place out in Morgan Park . We had even picked out the house.
- Benetha dream is to become a doctor . In this scene , Benetha is telling Ruth and her mother that she wants to be a doctor and shes really not worried about getting married at the moment . She wants to end the gender stereotypes for becoming a doctor .
- Ruth dream is to build a happy family , and wants a bigger and better place to live . Ruth is talking to Mama about her marriage being bumpy at the moment because her husband is so fixated on having a liquor store .
- Mama dream was moving her family out of their tiny apartment and into a bigger house . Mama was talking to Ruth about her great of a man her late husband was . They were supposed to live in a bigger house but her dreams got deferred and none of it happened .
