- Meeting of Mentor
- Eckles, the Protagonist. Lives in a world where time travel exists and is used for commercial at a steep price. In this world technology seems to be an expensive commodity.
- Crossing the Threshold
- Eckles pays 10,000 in order to use the time machine to hunt a T-Rex. He boasts of his other trophies.
- Trials/ Challenges
- Lesperance in his guide through time travel. He warns Eckles not to disturbing anything in the past. He must stay on the trail.
- Return to Ordinary World
- Eckles enters the time machine, which brings him many millions of years back in the same day as the T-Rex.
- When Eckles sees the T-Rex, he is terrified and runs back to the time machine. While running back, he steps off the path.
- As a result, the future is changed: the world in the present is more dystopian and slightly altered. In the end Travis loads his gun and points it at Eckles, shooting him. Our hero does not have a happy ending, but it is an ending with the sound of thunder.
