- Oh wow, I never knew that!
- The Ovary is the organ that holds the eggs. there are 2 ovaries on the right and left, the size and shape of a walnut or grape.
- This is so fascinating!!!
- The ovaries produce the egg cells, called the ova. The oocytes are then transported to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a sperm may occur. The fertilized egg jthen moves to the uterus, where the uterine lining has thickened in response to the normal hormones of the reproductive cycle.
- The Fallopian tube One of two long tubes that connect the ovaries to the uterus. Eggs pass from the ovaries, through the fallopian tubes, to the uterus. In the female reproductive tract, there is one ovary and one fallopian tube on each side of the uterus.
- The cervix acts like the gatekeeper to allow the baby to pass through when ready to give birth, the cervix must dilate to 10 cm.
- Finally theres The vagina, the vagina connects the uterus to the outside world. The vulva and labia form the entrance, and the cervix of the uterus protrudes into the vagina, forming the interior end. The vagina receives the private part during sexual intercourse and also serves as a conduit for menstrual flow from the uterus.
