- The Adventure of AquaKonstantin Litovchenko4th period
- Once upon a time, Aqua was just sitting with his friends in the river and chilling.
- "Good idea, let's do it".-said his other friend.
- "Look, there's a cloud directly overhead. Perhaps we should go there and investigate."-said one of his friends.
- Yes, that is true. Condensation is thechange of the state of matter from the gas phase into the liquid phase, and is the reverse of vaporization.
- Aqua and his companions took to the clouds. They began to EVAPORATE. (the evaporation of a liquid from its surface into a gaseous state.)
- It is so cool out here but there are my friends?
- "Aqua, we are right here!"-shouted his friend.
- It's going to start raining soon, so it's time to head home.
- Alright, but where are my other friends?
- Don't worry, they condensated and became this cloud.
- As they flew home, the process of precipitation occurred. Precipitation is any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapor that falls under gravitational pull from clouds. (snow, rain, sleet...)
- Oh no, what is happening? The water is flowing too fast.
- In the previous scene, you just saw "run-off process". Surface runoff is water, from rain, snowmelt, or other sources, that flows over the land surface, and is a major component of the water cycle
- And they also got exactly in a watershed. A watershed isthe area of land where all of the water that drains off of it goes into the same place—a river, stream or lake.
- After that, Aqua and his friends went to the aquifer. An aquifer is an underground layer of water-bearing permeable rock, rock fractures or unconsolidated materials. Groundwater from aquifers can be extracted using a water well.
- Then, they were extracted by the water well and nobody knows what happened to them.
- So this is how ground water and surface water interact. Surface water seeps into the earth, replenishing the underlying aquifer; groundwater releases to the surface, providing baseflow to the stream. Through the exchange of water and chemicals, groundwater and surface water physically overlap at the groundwater/surface water interface.
