- A little over 1% of water on Earth is accessible drinking water. Being one of our most scarce and important resources, we should treat it like one.
- I fear my kids won't enjoy water like this.
- Sewage and wastewater are two of the three top polluters of water. Cities, urban centers and overpopulation have greatly increased rates of pollution worldwide, especially in China and the U.S.
- Agriculture is the biggest factor in water contamination in the U.S. Fertilizing soil leads to contaminated runoff into rivers and lakes that lead to the oceans.
- Those oceans and wildlife that originally look like this.....
- ...are turning into this around the world, and at an alarming rate. This would be an example of a "dead zone," where water has depleted oxygen and can't sustain life.
