A little over 1% of water on Earth is accessible drinking water. Being one of our most scarce and important resources, we should treat it like one.
I fear my kids won't enjoy water like this.
Sewage and wastewater are two of the three top polluters of water. Cities, urban centers and overpopulation have greatly increased rates of pollution worldwide, especially in China and the U.S.
Agriculture is the biggest factor in water contamination in the U.S. Fertilizing soil leads to contaminated runoff into rivers and lakes that lead to the oceans.
Those oceans and wildlife that originally look like this.....
...are turning into this around the world, and at an alarming rate. This would be an example of a "dead zone," where water has depleted oxygen and can't sustain life.
AWARENESS ISN'T ENOUGH ANYMORE. WE MUST ACT NOW!
