  •  Hey Tom, I have a question for you, What was the main cause of World War 1 ?
  • World War 1 started on August 28, 1914. The difference in policies were to blame, but the immediate cause was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
  •  Hey Ryan How many countries fought in War World 1?
  • The war consisted of two sides. The war was against the Central Powers which include Germany,Austria-Hungary, and Turkey against the Allies, which were France,Great Britain, Russia, Italy,Japan and from 1917 the United States.

  • Hey Tom, who won World War 1?
  • After 4 years of combat,on November 11, 1918 World War 1 came to an end. It ended with the Allies defeating the Central Powers. There were 9.7 million military personnel and about 10 million civilians killed. The allies lost about 5.7 million soldiers while the Central Powers lost about 4 million. Ryan ,did you know World War 1 was known as the "war to end all wars" because of the great slaughter and destruction it caused? It was not called World War 1 until after the second World War.
  •  Hey Ryan, what was one impact of World War 1?
  •  World War 1 changed the world. It led to the Russian Revolution, the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy. It lead to the restructuring of the political order in Europe and other parts of the world, especially the Middle East. World War 1 forced countries to look to technology in order to gain an edge over their enemies. Some of the new weapons created included submarines,tanks, warplanes and poison gas.

  • TREATY OF VERSAILLES
  • The Treaty of Versailles severally punished Germany. It forced Germany to give up all it's colonies and territories. Also, it reshaped the political landscape of Europe and Middle East. Because of how severely Germany was punished it laid the foundation for World War 2.
