- If you are inside, do not leave. Stay inside and don't stand under a doorway.
- Drop to your hands and knees so the earthquake doesn't knock you over.
- If possible, hide under a sturdy desk or table.
- Don't hide in the corner of outside walls or under windows, light fixtures, or shelves.
- If you are in bed, stay there and cover your head with a pillow.
- If you are outside, move away from power lines, streetlights, bridges, overpasses, and buildings. When you find an open space, drop to the ground and cover your head with your hands.
