- Most anti-heroes are obsessive over the past or with what they want fate to turn out as. This character is an example because she's obsessed with her past mistakes of being a failure.
- Lack of a true identity is a common thing in anti heroes, whether they change their identities, or they are uncertain of their identity. This character falls into that because she doesn't really know who she is. And everyone else just thinks of her as a grumpy grandma
- Generally, Anti-heroes have had or do have tragedy in their life. This character's tragedy is the sadness of wasting her whole life and now she's old and wrinkly.

- Most anti-heroes have an unsatisfying end. This character dies of stairs while trying to learn to be kind from her grandchildren.
- Anti-heroes tend to set their own rules and morals, usually made by their need for self-preservation. Gerdie's rules and morals consist of "Stay off my lawn", and "Must get more cats".
- Anti Heroes are normally not all evil or all good. This Granny is very mean, but sometimes can be sweet when it comes to cats. She has lots of cats. Because she's a Granny.

- Granny Gerdie is the grumpy old grandma of the neighborhood. She likes to yell at people who even step ONE TOE in her yard. she's called the cops like 30 times because of people getting near her yard. While she may seem cruel, her only passion is cats. Granny Gerdie's story is of an old cranky lady who is angry because of the fact that she wasted her past and now she's too old and creaky to even do anything. One day, her Grandchildren come to town and try to teach her how to be a nice person to people other than her 99 cats that live in her house. However, just as she's about to become kinder, she trips down the stairs and falls and dies.
