  • Square Rots and Cubed Roots Story Board
  • I can help!
  • I don' get square and cubed roots and the test is tomorrow!
  • Square roots form a perfect square. This means they have the same number of units of all sides. To find a square's measurement, you multiply a number by itself, which would be the square root. If the square is on a graphing chart, counting the units on each side can also help. When you find the square root, there are two, a negative and a positive square root. Both equal the same thing, so the square root can be either, but the positive, or principal, square root is most common.3x3=9 Square root of 9 is 3 and -3
  • I can help with that too!
  • Okay, but what about cubed roots?
  • A cubed root is multiplied by itself 3 times to get the number that is being cubed. Cubed roots are similar to square roots, but they make a cube instead of a square. All sides will be the same length for a rational, or perfect, cube. Cubed roots will be much larger than the square root. When finding the volume of a cube, cubed roots can be found to determine the length of each side if it is a perfect cube.3x3x3=27 cubed root of 27 is 3
  • Thanks for the help! I know I'm going to ace this test over square roots and cubed roots. A cubed root is multiplied 3 times and a square root is multiplied twice. I got this!
