  • The Proclamation of 1763
  • We must leave to prevent fighting with the Natives!
  • Absolutely not, this proclamation is tyrannical! We're staying put.
  • The Stamp and Quartering Acts
  • This is outrageous! First I was taxed for buying paper and now I'm forced to house an unwanted guest!
  • Come on in! Good thing England is finding ways to rebuild their strength.
  • The Townshend Acts
  • Why should everything we do be under England's control?? Everything is being taxed and the king is sending countless troops.
  • Of course! It's great that these extreme patriots are finally going to be put under control.
  • I'm here to inspect your cargo.
  • In 1763, King George declared a boundary that ran across the Appalachian mountains where colonists were to stay East of and the Natives, West.
  • The Boston Massacre
  • It's a rouse by the patriots to get rid of the armies!
  • Why massacre so many unarmed people???
  • Colonists were taxed by the British for every piece of paper they bought (even legal documents like marriage certificates, etc.) so that England could pay of their debt. They were also forced to provide for any British soldiers.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • No more tyranny!
  • Taxes were put on goods like glass, tea, paint, and paper. There was also the writs of assistance stating that British law enforcement could inspect cargo without reason.
  • The Intolerable (Coercive) Acts
  • There will be no unauthorized meetings!
  • What started as a riot by the patriots on March 5, 1770, turned into the death of 5 colonists, which would be twisted by the patriots as a massacre of innocent people.
  • After tea was being continuously taxed and there was a monopoly by a non-American company, the colonists decided they had enough and dressed up as Natives and dumped 90,000 lbs of tea into the ocean.
  • 90,000 lbs of tea
  • The destruction of so many good must be punished!
  • These laws were made by British parliament to control the rebelling colonists. They included a restriction of unauthorized meetings, closing down the harbor, etc.
  • That's unacceptable! How are we to tolerate these insane laws??
