- Kit was a sixteen year old girl who lived in Barbados. Kits whole family had just passed away. Her grandfather was taking care of her because her parents died. Then her grandpa passed away. Because of her grandfather passing away she had to move to Wethersfield. Wethersfield is in Connecticut. Kit soon got on a boat to go to Wethersfield.
- Wethersfield is completely different than Barbados. Most of the people in Barbados can't swim. Barbados is an island and Wethersfield is in Connecticut which is one of the 13 colonies. Because Barbados is an island it is very warm. Connecticut is cold. Kit had to move to a place that is completely different. She was not happy.
- While on the boat there was a little girl whose doll fell out of the of the boat. Her mom was really mad at her for loosing her doll. The little girl was really sad and she was crying. Kit couldn't sand to see the girl so sad. Kit took action. She jumped in the water. Realizing the water was freezing, she swam over to the doll and grabbed it. Nat was scared because he didn't know if she could swim or not. Kit soon got the doll and swam out of the water.
