- Good evening, my fellow citizens. We have found out that Soviets have missiles placed in Cuba. We have taken this as a very serious threat.
- I have directed that blockade over Cuba be taken immediately in order to halt this offensive build up
- Pres. Kennedy threatened to start nuclear war ()f the missiles had not been removed from Cuba

- For a long time, United States and USSR were in a stand off which was the postion of the Cold War

- Kennedy tells Diefenbaker that he has to put Canada in a high alert status for defense but Diefenbaker refuses, which puts Canada at a higher risk. He also did not permit nuclear tips in the missiles.
- Kennedy meets with Canada's Prime Minister Diefenbaker

- Today in class we will be learning about air raid drills going on.

- Canada's fighter jet project "Avro Arrow" was also put on paused and cancelled later because nuclear bombs were a bigger necessity

- Mr. Khrushchev. We have come up with an offer,here it is; You will remove all your missiles from Cuba, in return, we will be removing our misiles from Turkey.
