- Cheating is never a good idea. It keeps you from properly learning the material, and it is plagiarism
- Receiver: The student (sitting) is listening to the teacher
- Encoding: The teacher lists the student all consequences regarding misbehaviour on the board
- Consequences as a result of misbehaviour:1. Automatic 02. Call parents3. Detention4. Referral
- Decoding: student thinks teacher is picking on/ only targeting him
- Communication barriers: students are talking loudly, central student grows angry.
- You always get me in trouble. What about everyone else?! Why don't you call them out?

- Contex: During class, a student is caught cheating by his teacher. The teacher attemptsto properly handle the situation by enforcing consequences, while the student reacts disrespectfully.
