- Scythe Faraday makes Citra and Rowan his new apprentices. He then trains them to become Scythes. One of them will become a scythe and the other one will go back to their normal life.
- At a conclave, Scythe Goddard finds out Citra and Rowan are not trying their bests to become a scythe. He orders whoever becomes a scythe to glean the loser. This way they will try their best and there will be a true winner.
- Scythe Xenocrates tells Citra and Rowan Scythe Faraday is dead. They are moved from Faradya's house and move in with two new scythes. Rowan lives with Scythe Goddard and Citra with Scythe Curie. they are now their apprentices.
- At the summer conclave, Rowan breaks Citra's neck to get disqualified from becoming a scythe. Citra is accused of killing Scythe Faraday. Citra finds out that Scythe Faraday is still alive.
- Rowan went to his first mass gleaning with Scythe Goddard and his disciples. Rowan then kills scythe Goddard for how he gleans.
- Citra was the winner and has to glean Rowan. Before she gleaned him, she punched him for breaking her neck. His blood fell onto her Scythe ring granting him immunity. He then escapes and was known as Scythe Lucifier.
