- I know how to do chores, mom. Don't worry too much. I'll do them later so please let me play more.
- Aling Rosa is a diligent and caring mother of a 10 year old girl named Pina. She wants her child to learn how to do household chores so that she can at least grow up to be an outstanding child.
- Pina, can you cook some lugaw for us? I can't really move right now, I'm sick.
- Mom, where can I find the ladle? I can't see it anywhere in the kitchen.
- Aling Rosa always tries to teach her daughter how to do the household chores properly. But Pina keeps excusing herself by saying she already knows how to do them so she does not need to teach her.
- You're so blind, Pina! I wish you could have eyes all over your body so you would see where it is instead of pestering me while I'm sick! Can't you just look for it yourself?!
- Being a loving and caring mother, Aling Rosa could not bear to scold her daughter so she simply overworked herself and did not bother to keep persuading Pina.
- Pina!!! No! I'm sorry for being a bad mother! Please come back!
- One day, Aling Rosa became sick, so she was forced to ask her daughter to do the household chores. Aling Rosa asked Pina to cook lugaw for both of them. However, Pina kept asking her mother where she could find their ladle instead of just looking for them on her own.
- Not being able to do anything on her own, Pina got scolded by her mom. She walked out of the room quietly and proceeded to look for the ladle, crying because her loving mother got mad at her.
- One morning, whilst cleaning the backyard, Aling Rosa saw a peculiar type of fruit. It had patterns that looked like eyes. Not knowing where her daughter is, Aling Rosa quickly realized that what she said the other day became true. Thus, that is how the "Alamat ng Pinya" came to fruition.
