- Yeah, I've heard that BBM is the one who's leading the tally. With the election returns at 98% right now, I guess we now know who our new president is this 2022 and the upcoming years.
- Well, it pretty much looks like it. I wonder what being a president looks like. Now, let me ask you this question. What if, in an alternate universe, you became the president of the Philippines this 2022?
- It seems like President Duterte's term as president will come to an end this 2022. Also, the voting for this year's president was less than a week ago.
- That's a tough question! But, if I ever became the president of the Philippines, may it be whatever universe, I'm going to implement programs that focuses on fixing or minimizing the problems that the country is currently facing.
- And what exactly are those problems that you wish to be minimized through agendas or programs?
- Exactly! With me as president, school tuition fees are significantly reduced. Also, I will provide more learning materials for students and a system where students' skills are developed at a young age. This also includes a pay raise to all the teachers whether in public or private schools.
- First off, our country's education. You know how important education is right?
- Also, I know how lucky I am that I am able to learn at school. Some students who also want to learn doesn't get to do so because of financial reasons.
- Yeah, I know. Or else, I wouldn't be going to school even if I have the money to do so.
- On social and economic aspects however, I would offer more jobs to those who are still unemployed as there are plenty of Filipinos that are jobless and are unable to provide for their family.
- Cleanliness of the environment is also a very essential step for the Philippines to have a healthy surrounding and overall be a country that cares for the environment.
- That's a good idea! Now, more Filipinos will be able to work and poverty in the Philippines will be minimized.
- It's also not just the murderers. There are also those who are proven corrupt officials, sexual offenders, and drug pushers and users. But even still, this will not stop people from doing illegal things. So, through the death penalty, some criminals might consider not doing crimes ever again.
- Well, this is a bold take and some people might not completely agree with this but legalization of the death penalty is what I have in mind.
- I completely agree with all of what you said! But, what about our justice system?
- I see your point. Putting murderers to death will ensure that convicted killers will not kill again. That's one less crime in the country.
- One last thing before we go to bed. What about our governance?
- To do this, I will establish a background check for all politicians and businessmen every week to ensure that none of them may get away red-handed, especially on spending.
- Since it's late at night, we might have to stop there. Of course, there are still things that I would want to do if I was the president. But, like they said, it's easier said than done. So, even if we're not the President, we shouldn't stop helping our country become a better one.
- You know that good governance is prevented by corruption right? What I would do is eradicating corruption and greed.
