- Delian was created in 478 BC, The base being the island of delos. The athens were always in control of the league and had its money used for Athens navy, which allowed athens to rule the mediterianian sea region. In 454 BC the league moved the treasury into athens. Now the city's powerless, leaving athens under almost all control
- We are athens and e needed to tell you that the delian league is an allience with the greek city states and will hopefully keep us protected from persia.
- Sparta formed the league with thebes, corinth megara and more city states. Sparta didnt like how the athens where using the leagues money for its own benifits
- The delian and peloponnesian started a war 460 BCE called the pelopennnisian war. This happened due to tennsions between athens and corinth. Because of an earth quack and helot revolt, sparta was absent most of the time for the first part.
- The war ended after fighting for 15 years. Greece had some peace for some time. More fighting began after 431 BCE sparta leading the peloponnesian league. The athens avaoided the sparta army and focused on there navy. Athens had more of an advantage when it came to number as well, but those numbers didnt last
- In 430 BCE , a plague hit Athens. It hurt the athens killing 1/3 of their people. It also killed athens leader. The athens still fought and even with their leader gone athens still one many naval battles
- The peloponnesian league won with help from persia. Persia promised lonia and in return for gold. Sparta defeated the athenian naval fleet. The athens surrendured in 404 BCE
