- With virtually all of continental Europe under German control, the Allied forces faced a well armed enemy.
- Western flank
- We did it, now break all the guns and well leave
- They decided that the best way to attack was have to simultaneous flanks with a main attack half an hour later, the flanks would try to destroy the guns.

- CHARGE!!!!!
- In the early hours of August 19, the landing craft of the eastern sector unexpectedly ran into a small German convoy. There was a violent sea fight, and that noise alerted the German coastal defences. The ships were scattered, and most of the unit never reached shore.

- The No. 4 Commando operation was completely successful. The units landed as planned and successfully destroyed the guns in the battery near Varengeville, and then withdrew safely.
- The Canadian troops were trapped on the beach by german gunfire. every advancement they made the were met by the germans raining bullets on them. pretty much it was a terrible plan.
- By the afternoon of August 19, 1942, the operation was over. Debate over the raid continues to this day. Some believe that it was a useless slaughter, others say that is was necessary for the success of the invasion of the continent two years later on D-Day.
