  • Wow! that was an interesting and a sad story because of how our native fish are affected by the carp.
  • Hello!!!!
  • Yes it is! I just hope that this carp problem gets better.
  • Also, just incase a lake floods, two fences are built along a river, to restrict us from entering another river. A short fence, and a taller fence behind it because well, we’re geniuses. We can jump over the fences! But we wouldn’t be able to jump over the large fence as easily…So I guess the people are geniuses then!?!!?
  • I don’t actually have many true predators as I grow really big, really fast. But we also were tiny babies are one point of time, which meant that we did have predators. Largemouth bass, and herons can eat baby Carp, since we’re small enough.
  • Some organizations, and programs try to control my population for some random, strange reason… Ok fine! I know the exact reason why!! They set up unpleasant electric barriers or borders between two lakes. It practically electrocutes/shocks me and makes me feel uncomfortable when I go near it. So I move away from that area, which means that I wouldn’t be able to enter another lake that easily anymore.
  • My family, such as the Grass carp also tends to eat LOTS of aquatic plants, such as algae. This in return would also reduce the population of native fish species that feed on those plants, such as the "Channel Catfish" because of the fact that we Carp eat a lot, all the time. Wow, I really got to work on empathy eh?
  • In Mississippi, the native mussels species are badly affected by me, due to the fact that I eat almost all of their plankton! I’m not the only major plankton feeder if I haven’t mentioned that before...wait! Actually, I did. This would result in the mussel population, along with all the other plankton & the mussel-eating fish population going down too! For example, starfish eat mussels, and now that the mussels population would go down, then so would the starfish’s, since they don’t have their primary food source!
